Video is important to tell your business’s story! Video can tell a story in a way that still photos and text cannot. If you have happy customers, a great business journey, or charming team members, putting them in front of a camera is a great way to build trust.
Why do small businesses need video marketing?
Video is an amazing way for a new small business to introduce themselves to their community. It can answer the “who, what, why, what do they do” questions very quickly for potential customers. Videos can expand your potential audience, capture viewers’ attention, and showcase what your business has to offer in only a few short seconds. By creating a diversified video marketing campaign, you can work on not only reaching your target audience, but keep them engaged as well.
Why is video so important in digital marketing?
Video is a popular medium among audiences. Two-thirds of consumers would rather watch a video to learn about a service, rather than to read about it. It captures viewers attention, it’s call to action is remembered by more people, and it boosts SEO by keeping visitors on your site longer. Knowing where and how to use video in each stage of the customer journey is an extremely valuable tool in a digital marketers pocket.
What types of video does my business need?
The types of video your business needs vary based on the type of service or product you’re selling, who your target customers are, and where they are in the buyer journey. Although the outline can be the same or similar, the content will be tailored to you and your business. We recommend every business at least have a short business summary video to act as your introduction to the world.
It’s important to remember that not all video platforms are best for every business. Keep your target audience and where they are viewing content in mind.

How long does it take to create a video?
Video production timelines are hard to generalize. Complexity, the number of shoots, the length, and the amount of stakeholders are all factors. Broadly speaking a simple video can be created in as little as 1 week but the average production takes 4-6 weeks. For most projects we are able to schedule a shoot with as little as 1 week’s notice then deliver the first draft of the video( or videos) within 10 business days of the shoot date. We then make revisions to those videos at the client's request within 5 business days of receiving them.
We also offer rush pricing options for edits, when available.
How do I make sure my script is 30 seconds?
Websites like script-timer.com are a great estimate for script timing length by word count or by pasting in your draft script. They even have adjustments for how fast your speaker talks and how that will affect the duration.
What does a production crew consist of?
Our crews scale to the needs of the project and the client. Our goal is to provide the exact crew necessary to meet the clients requirements without too much excess. We want to be as lean as we can without compromising quality, and as fully staffed as we can without being wasteful of budget.
What clothing can be worn on camera?
You should avoid white, bright red, and all-black outfits. These colors can react negatively to the camera exposure that is needed to make your face stand out and be in focus. We also do not recommend tight knit patterns like thin stripes or gingham. A Lightswitch producer will provide guidance on wardrobe during your pre-production process.
Can you shoot aerial footage?
Yes we can record aerial footage! All of our drone pilots are FAA licensed and shoots are insured in accordance with U.S. law. We love capturing aerial footage!
